| WHO WE ARE |
|
Liberty Mulch is a group of San Diego friends and
neighbors upset at the state of our American political garden
- pests and weeds everywhere. We share a growing frustration
over the Bush Administration and the current shift in our
society towards an increasingly radical conservatism. We feel
these extreme actions do not represent average Americans,
who, like us, are more in the middle. Many of us are guilty
of being lazy gardeners - we cared about politics but relied
on others to mulch the garden and weed the pests that threaten
it. But as we watch recent events unfold, we realize we must
become involved. Otherwise, we face years (if not generations)
restoring our precious garden. The time for action is now!

| WHAT WE PLAN TO DO
|
| |
Keep informed. We'll keep this website updated
with current articles,
events, and other links.
We also have two e-mail lists:
one for keeping up with events around San Diego and
another for reading various op-ed articles.
|
| |
Support a presidential candidate for 2004. Over
the next couple of months, we will be endorsing a candidate
who reflects our values (see below).
|
| |
Get motivated. In addition to supporting a candidate,
we want to investigate and
endorse other causes in line with our values.
|
| |
Let others know they are not alone. We plan
to have occasional gatherings so like-minded people
get to know each other and share ideas. At these events,
we'll have guest speakers, informational topics, cookies
and wine and some social chatter.
|
| |
Get united. We are stronger together than alone.
We think it is time for strategy over idealism. We define
ourselves as moderate-to-liberal yet we want to work
with other groups (some
more conservative and some more liberal).
|
|
